Phase 2 of the Building Futures Construction Project occurred on the weekend of December 21, 2018 when the Chapel Annex and Boiler Plant Buildings were razed to make way for construction of the new Gateway and STEM Building on St. Mary's Campus. Help us honor the Chapel. Click here to give to the Grotto.
THIS YEAR, EVERY YEAR. ST. MARY’S IS BUILDING FUTURES
We strive to fulfill our mission: provide a Catholic education of the highest quality, at the greatest value,
attainable for all students and their families.
Your generosity helps St. Mary’s maintain its standards of excellence in all areas, starting in the classroom.
Together, we will build on the great work that has already been accomplished. Together, we will build futures.
BUILDING FUTURES STEM & GATEWAY PROJECT UPDATE
JULY 2018
St. Mary's concluded the Building Futures Campaign in December 2017 and successfully raised close to $20 million. Thank you to all who made the campaign a success.
The STEM & Gateway Building project is underway as we are currently in Phase One of the project. Starting in July of 2018, contractors began the work to convert St. Mary's heating system from steam to hot water. This major undertaking will allow all buildings currently on campus and the new structure to be properly heated and in an efficient manner. These are the all-important, but un-exciting “bones” of the project that will make our new STEM and Gateway Building possible and result in the demolition of the 71 year-old boiler plant to make way for new green space on campus.
You will also notice that we have completed an upgrade to the 30 Tremont Street building and parking area. This building now houses our workout space, dance practice studio and robotics team space.
Once the steam-to-hot-water phase is complete, we will move on to the next and most exciting leg of project, the construction of the STEM and Gateway Building. We will keep our community apprised of the steps as we move along.
