St. Mary's Board of Trustees
St. Mary's is grateful for its esteemed Board of Trustees whose leadership and philanthropy help shape the school in many ways.
Susan Blanchard is the parent of St. Mary's graduate class of '15 and current student class of '19.
Bachelor of Business Administration, Isenberg School of Management University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA
Susan is the Vice President of Research Administration and the Institutional Official for Research at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. She is a proven leader with 20+ years of progressive experience in an academic research setting specializing in budgeting and planning, commercialization of intellectual property, growth of the medical center's research portfolio, protection of institutional assets and adherence to federal and institutional policies. She has been on the Board of Trustees at St. Mary's since 2013 and serves on the Enrollment Committee and other ad hoc committees as requested. As a parent at the school, Susan volunteers her time for the various sports and other school activities that her two daughters (Paige '15 and Grace '19) have and are participating in. She brings a wealth of knowledge in the running of a complex non-profit organization that translates easily to her role on the Board. Prior to starting her family, Susan volunteered for several years in local English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for adult students assisting them with math and reading skills.
Why St. Mary's:
I recently described the St. Mary's experience for both of our daughters as one that allowed them to fully blossom into individuals who understand the importance of service and fully engaging in all that God has provided for them. For both of our daughters, St. Mary's provided a foundation of academics, a strong belief in self and what you can do when you give something your best effort and a sense of responsibility for others. St. Mary's provided several opportunities for leadership experiences for both of our girls providing a foundation for personal growth after high school. If asked to describe life at St. Mary's in one word to prospective parents, it would be "engagement". When I volunteer at our Open Houses and speak with prospective parents on the phone who have questions about life at St. Mary's, I have so many positive things to say about all of the activities that our daughters are engaged in and I want every parent to know and understand that their son or daughter will be happy here and will make lifelong friends as our daughters have. As a member of the Board of Trustees, I am committed to serving the school as best I can so that the school can best serve our students, faculty and staff.
