November 13, 2020 Most Reverend Mark O'Connell at St. Mary's A BLESSED MOMENT
St. Mary's enjoyed another momentous occasion on Thursday, November 12 as Most Reverend Mark O'Connell, Auxiliary Bishop of Boston, joined us on campus to lead us in prayer and blessing over St. Mary's new STEM and Gateway Building.
Dr. John F. Dolan opened the prayer service and said, "It is part of the Catholic tradition and faith to bless a building upon its opening and to ask for God's grace and goodness upon the facility and all who are present inside its walls." Board Chair William Mosakowski also shared remarks which included his awe of this moment to be standing in the new STEM Building of which "every brick, every steel beam, has a story."
St. Mary's Pastor Fr. Brian recited an opening prayer before introducing Most Reverend Mark O'Connell to lead the building blessing. "The bible tells us that God does not dwell in houses made by human hands. God dwells among his people." said Fr. Brian.
The Building Blessing included many beautiful prayers for God's blessing over St. Mary's STEM and Gateway building, all who participated in the planning and construction of the new facility and all of the faculty, staff and students who will work, learn and grow in the new building. Our gratitude goes to His Excellency for leading us in the Building Blessing. See more pictures from the Building Blessing below.
