May 21, 2021 GIRLS RUGBY TEAM MAKING SPARTAN HISTORY LAST DAY FOR SENIORS
Congratulations to our seniors on their last day of school! Next week they will being their senior festivities including their Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Ceremony.
We are beyond proud of all they have accomplished. Please enjoy a message from St. Mary's Board Chair Bill Mosakowski in commemoration of your final day of high school below.
Dear St. Mary's Seniors,
On behalf of the board of trustees, I offer the class of 2021 all of our best thoughts and prayers as you prepare for senior week and your final days as a St. Mary's student.
I am so proud of all our St. Mary's students and their personal, academic and athletic achievements. As the school prepares to celebrate Commencement 2021, I am wearing my Spartan pull over today in solidarity with the Class of 2021 and to tell the world that "I am St. Mary's!"
Enjoy your senior retreat today, and all of the senior week activities. I look forward to joining you on Thursday as we celebrate our first outdoor commencement in our history!
Sincerely,
SPARTAN NEWS ST. MARY'S 2020-21 TERM III PRINCIPAL'S LIST AND HONOR ROLL Congratulations to all of our students for their academic excellence!
IN THE HISTORY OF FIRSTS "When an institution is over 140 years old, there are precious few "first ever" occurrences" said Head of School Dr. John F. Dolan. St. Mary's celebrated a first on Friday, May 14 when our Girls's Rugby team played and won their first match in the history of Spartan athletics. Ava Benzán '21 scored the first points in history, and Vanessa Latorelli '21 scoring in the second match against Lincoln Sudbury.
COLLEGE SPOTLIGHT
This week's College Acceptance Spotlight is Kiara Wynder '21! Kiara Wynder '21 will be attending College of the Holy Cross this fall!
"Prior to my attendance at St. Marys, I had wanted to study STEM but had not received the tools and academics to do so. However, St. Marys provided me with a background in Civil engineering and Computer science which prompted me to want to explore the field more. Any student experimenting with STEM and fields of science will be able to accomplish their goal in the new building. The academic environment set for students is one designed for true success."
KING CAMPUS VISIT We were pleased to welcome St. Mary's alumni Jack King '66 and his wife Mary King '67 on campus Tuesday to visit the King Family Guidance Office and receive a tour of the new building.
Jack and Mary are proud former residents of Lynn and supporters of Catholic education. Growing up next to each other in Lynn, Jack and Mary would walk to St. Mary's for school every day together, as just friends, until Jack had asked Mary to be his wife years later. A true love story! Jack King '66 attended West Point after graduating from St. Mary's and is dedicated to seeing students achieve the goal of attending the college or university of their choice, as he did. They were pleased to hear from our students, how they became Spartans and where they plan to continue their journey after high school.
It is a privilege to invite our alumni back to campus and to create new relationships with our current students. Our Spartan community helps shape the St. Mary's campus and create opportunities for students today and in the future.

Sponsorship opportunities are available! SPARTAN PRIDE SPARTAN ACCOLADES The Spartans have been on a great streak! Our spring athletic teams are all doing extremely well.
On Tuesday, May 18 we recognized the St. Mary's Track and Field team for a tremendous weekend. There were state qualifiers, new PRs and overall an exceedingly powerful performance by the entire team.
In addition, the St. Mary's softball team achieved one of the biggest wins of its early season last week, as Emely Rodriguez '22 snagged the walk-off hit to beat defending Div. 1 south champion Bridgewater-Raynham.
A SUPRISE REUNION Mrs. Renzi's 2014 6th grade homeroom, who are now seniors, set up a surprise reunion yesterday to say their goodbyes before graduation next week. Great job putting a big smile on Mrs. Renzi's face!
CELEBRATING DIVERSITY The History Department and the Diversity Club partnered to put together a display of multicultural flags from every student in the building. Each flag represents the unique identity of each student in our community. You will find them displayed in the Connell Building surrounding the Diversity Board. DINOSAURS DIDN'T READ English Department Head, Larry Doherty organized a project called, "Dinosaurs Didn't Read and Look What Happened to Them." Students and teachers wrote book reviews on books they were currently reading to be displayed in the English Department hallways.
GRADE 6 THEOLOGY Mrs. Foley's grade 6 theology classes created board games to test each other's knowledge about all that they have learned in theology this year.
