September 24, 2021 STUDENTS WORKING ON THEIR BIOLOGY EXPERIMENT SPARTAN ACADEMICS ARE LEADING THE WAY
St. Mary's rigorous college-preparatory program is fully integrated over seven years and is committed to providing a 21st-century learning environment. As we finalize the second week of school, we are amazed at all of the academic projects already underway; from Biology class experiments, to English writing assignments, Hispanic heritage month projects and more.
Academics are the focus here at St. Mary's and we are so glad to see our students already entrenched in hands-on learning. Read on to see more that happened on campus this week at St. Mary's as well as exciting upcoming events, such as Fall Preview for prospective students.
SPARTAN NEWS BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT St. Mary's welcomed parents to "Back to School Night" Wednesday night to give parents an opportunity to follow their students' daily schedule in order to meet their teachers and learn more about the upcoming school year.
PLANT BIOLOGY Mr. Goldenheim's Biology classes participated in an observational experiment. They planted seeds and journaled the differences they saw each day.
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH St. Mary's celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!
COLLEGE VISITS SENIORS Magnoly Maria, Senior Admission Counselor at Providence College, visited St. Mary's to meet with seniors on Thursday, September 23, in the King Guidance Suite to discuss Providence College.
FRESHMAN ENGLISH CLASSROOM LOOKS "INSPIRATIONAL" Mrs. Light displays the first project her Freshmen English classes worked on in her classroom.
CHORUS HAS A GREAT TUNE While walking by the O'Brien Lecture Hall during the school day, you can catch a beautiful tune coming from these talented students led by music teacher Brandon Mayes.
STUDENTS ENJOY STUDYING IN THE LUISE HILL FAMILY LEARNING COMMONS Meanwhile, students that have study period have the privilege to do their work comfortably from the learning commons, and they do! Students meet there to work on homework and projects together, as well as independently work on their studies in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. UPCOMING EVENTS WE INVITE YOU TO GET TO KNOW ST. MARY'S LYNN The "St. Mary's Preview" is an opportunity to visit campus to see our brand new state-of-the-art STEM and Gateway Building. We will be hosting small, scheduled, group tours for prospective families so you may see our new facility and learn more about St. Mary's community.
During our time together we will also provide information on how to Apply, Enroll and be part of our Future. The St. Mary's Preview is open to all students interested in applying to grades 6-12. JOIN US!

HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS
The St. Mary's Hall of Fame nomination deadline has been extended to January 1, 2022 for our Hall of Fame event that will be held in Spring of 2022.
St. Mary's Hall of Fame acknowledges St. Mary's Alumni and devoted friends who have exemplified St. Mary's Pillars for Success: Catholic, Excellence, Integrity and Respect. Members of the St. Mary's Hall of Fame are acknowledged and celebrated as testaments of a St. Mary's education.

SPARTAN PRIDE SCHOLARS VOLUNTEER Sophomore Scholars volunteering with the North Shore Rovers- a free soccer program for kids with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. VOLLEYBALL BIG SEASON WIN St. Mary's Volleyball took home a 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 26-24) win on September 21 against Fenwick. The student section lit up the Tony C with great Spartan pride energy and a beach theme.
