FEEL SICK? STAY HOME?

To minimize the possibility of spreading illness, individuals who do not feel well, should NOT come to campus for any reason. If anyone is experiencing any of the symptoms, they are asked to notify the school and stay home. Symptoms include:

-Fever or chills
-New cough
-Shortness of breath
-Sore throat
-Fatigue
-Headache
-New congestion 
-New runny nose
-Muscle or body aches
-New loss of taste or smell
-Nausea or vomiting
-Diarrhea

MASK WEARING

Masks are not mandated on campus, unless there is an outbreak or other extenuating circumstance. If a student elects to wear a mask on campus, it must be a St. Mary's issued mask or a disposable mask. St. Mary's masks may be purchased at the main office for $6 each.  

SUSPECTED CASE OF COVID ON CAMPUS

If a student, faculty or staff member experiences symptoms of COVID while on campus, they are to immediately report the student health center.

• The School Nurse will then assess the individual for symptoms identified by the CDC as related to COVID.
• If the symptoms are representative of COVID, the School Nurse will implement necessary protocol to isolate the individual experiencing symptoms.
• Necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be used.
• Any student in isolation will always be monitored by a school nurse.
• Parents/guardians will be notified and required to come to campus to pick up their student as soon as possible.
• Parents should call the school when they arrive to campus to retrieve their sick student and they will be escorted out of the Tremont Street exit to the parent waiting for them.
• In the event a faculty/staff member is experiencing symptoms the Nurse will assess whether or not the individual is able to drive home or if the individual needs a family member to come pick her or him up from campus.
• The area where the individual experienced symptoms will be cleared, closed and then sanitized by staff wearing appropriate PPE.
• Once the individual has left the campus, the isolation room will be sanitized by staff in appropriate PPE.

COVID POSITIVE DIAGNOSIS OF COMMUNITY MEMBER

If you test positive for COVID-19 you may return to school and school-related activities on the sixth day from your positive test as long as you are asymptomatic. If you have symptoms, you must remain home until all symptoms are gone.
