St. Mary's Center for Academic Excellence

St. Mary's Center for Academic Excellence provides a consistent and caring learning environment to support educational progress for St. Mary’s students. Partnering with students to develop academic goals, create learning and study plans, reflect on progress, and persist is the mission of the center. Classes are designed to help students develop and refine Executive Function skills.

Areas of focus within each class include goal setting, study skills, organizing, prioritizing, starting a task and seeing it through to completion, self regulation, self monitoring, emotional regulation, self advocacy, breaking down assignments into manageable chunks, calendar/schedule planning, balancing academic/extracurricular demands, and preparing for college. This class meets everyday, and students will earn one credit for the class.
