St. Mary's May Crowning of Mary
On May 24, 2021 on the Molloy Twomey Green in the Mosakowski Gardens, St. Mary's Campus Ministry team crowned Mary honoring our Holy Mother.
Throughout history, Catholics have long honored the Blessed Virgin Mary during the month of May. To symbolize her significance in the Church and in our lives, the “May Crowning." A statue of the Blessed Virgin is crowned with a garland or crown of flowers honoring Mary as “the Queen of May."
The queen symbol was attributed to Mary because she was a perfect follower of Christ, who is the absolute “crown” of creation. She is the Mother of the Son of God, who is the messianic King.
Thank you all that participated in this special event.
